Used to be that I knew what I knew

Ain’t so sure since I went through it with you

Used to want everybody else to know it, too

Now I couldn’t care less what was what

Or who was who with who

Being Right ain’t never done that much for me

Being Right ain’t all that it’s cracked up to be

Doesn’t matter what you know

It don’t matter what you think

If you don’t get what you want

Being Right don’t mean a thing

Principles kept me out of touch

End result never seemed to mean as much

The long road never got what I was after

Now I know where it goes

But I don’t have to take it to get there

Being Right...

Don’t mean shit, never got me anywhere

Run away, now honey, that’s a lot to take

And the good that I got wasn’t worth

The sacrifice I had to make
